Repeatedly load on the tendon attachments can give overload, and in some cases inflammation reaction in en tendon attachments. The tendons from the muscles that stretch out the fingers and bend the wrist upwards is attached on the outer side (exterior) of the elbow, while the muscles that bend the fingers and bend the wrist downwards is attached on the inside. It is the latter muscles that become overloaded at golfer’s elbow. The overload result with that pain and soreness on the inside of the elbow. There can be several causes why the forearm’s muscles or muscular attachments become so overloaded that it gives pain, as with golfer’s elbow and tennis elbow. The names golfer’s elbow and tennis elbow are misleading. For instance for tennis elbow is it only under 5 percent of the cases that is caused by tennis. A common cause for pain in the elbow is overload that is come into being by repeatedly single /ensidig/ movements and static movement, for instance: The main problem isn’t necessary in the forearm where the pain is located, but problems in the shoulder musculature can give å pain that /stråler/ down towards the elbow. |
